Senior Safety & Risk Engineer SENIOR SAFETY & RISK ENGINEER An immediate opening exists for a Senior Safety & Risk Engineer within the operations, located in Houston, Texas.The successful applicant will be capable of working individually, basically unsupervised, or in a leadership role, and will expected to be capable of leading process safety and fire protection engineers and specialists in the discharge of their responsibilities on various stages (Pre-FEED, FEED, and/or Detail Design) of project development. Specific Duties and AccountabilitiesFamiliarity with the following process safety activities is essential; *Critical Element Identification Assessment *Fire & Explosion Assessment *Explosion Risk Assessment *Computational Fluid Dynamic modeling *Dispersion modeling programs *Non-Flammable Major Accident Assessment *Escape, Evacuation, and Rescue Assessment *Emergency System Survivability & Availability Assessment *Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) *ALARP Assessment *Fire Hazard Analysis (FHA) *Dropped Object Studies Education/Background/Competencies Required; *BS or MS in Chemical Engineering preferred. However, other applicable engineering disciplines will be considered with appropriate, related experience on a case by case basis. Professional licensing or certification is a plus. *8 to 10yrs of background in an offshore environment is preferred *Progressive background in working within, and/or supervising multi-discipline activities desirable *Demonstrated proficiencies with process safety software highly desirable *Strong organization skills and the expertise to communicate effectively in English is required *Expertise to meet project deliverables and deadlines required *Expertise to manage the preparation of, and present, complex process safety and /or fire protection reports and studies is required *Commitment to customer service, and the expertise to work with various nationalities and personalities is required *Expertise to review and comment on subordinates work products is considered critical *Capable of determining staffing levels and discipline qualifications based review of project scope/contract/deliverables documentation *Capable of ensuring adherence to required process safety and fire protection regulations, codes, standards, great engineering practices, and client qualifications *Capable for training/mentoring department employeesListing originally posted at http
